When the PDP jitters for a misconstrued 'war' by Mrs. Florence Ajimobi- Avant Garde

The evening of Saturday the 24th of January, 2026 brought the fear that the People's Democratic Party, PDP, has in Oyo State for the All Progressives Congress, APC ahead of the 2027 General Elections by banking on the ' war' used in getting back the political mandate of governance from Seyi Makinde led administration since 2019 owing to a mistaken loss by the APC then. 

This makes the Avant Garde of the All Progressives Congress to come to enlighten the PDP, especially individuals within the party who lack proper use of words in a contextual channel, in respect of "war"  by our most respected former first lady of Oyo State, a flexible politician, philanthropist and Nigerian Ambassador recently at an address of the newsmen.

Literarily, war is a conflict between nations, countries, or groups, involving violence, aggression, and destruction. It is often fought over territory, power, ideology, or resources, and can have devastating impacts on people, economies, and societies.

It seems the individuals who hide under the guise of the PDP have forgotten that the mandate and masterclass governance enjoyed by Seyi Makinde until now was orchestrated by the husband of Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, which without it, Makinde may not have anything to point out. 

This will make us highlight key road maps that Seyi Makinde has built on: 

*13th Month Salary

*Establishment of YESO- transited to Oyo State Transport and Road Management Agency ( OYTRMA)

* Formalization  and widening of dualised roads

* Renewal of Chieftaincy Matters

* Establishment of Combined Security  Taskforce- Operation Burst

* Destruction of widespread political sycophancy within the office of the Governor and Oyo Government Secretariat, 

* Building Natural Park within the Agodi Area- Agodi Gardens,

* Formalization of Interfaith programmes, 

* Planning and Renewal of New Ibadan Township through Road Infrastructure Project known as Ibadan Circular Road, 

* Introduction of Ajimobi Shuttle,

* Tackling inner communities security challenges- remember "1 million Boys"

* Tackling school brigandages,  

* Broader scholarships for students and less privileged formally and informally, 

* Development of local communities through the discretionarily created 35 LCDAs and greater empowerment of local government administrators though on appointment,

* Founding of a first technical university in Nigeria(Now Abiola Ajimobi Univeristy) among others. 

While we do not say, Seyi Makinde has not added his own value, it does not mean his administration's performance outlives Abiola Ajimobi's.

 Away from the governance administration, the 'war' used in an expression by Mrs. Florence Ajimobi is a readiness of the All progressives Congress to reclaim the political mandate from the Seyi Makinde led administration in 2027. This is not farfetched that the outgoing administration in Oyo State will like to do everything mischievous to retain the power through tricks and baits to the people of Oyo State, by then. This antics are well understood by our great Party. The same Governor that elderstatesman, Chief Niyi Akintola described as an "audio leader"; described by Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu as a "status quo leader" comment which forced the Governor to convey a media chat, resultant of letting out the truth that the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to have supported the Residents of Bodija Explosion with 30billion naira, with yet groans and moans from the affected victims. Any true defence until now, rather 20billion naira expected more?

The recent hike on health insurance by 7.5percent on local and state government workers has been greatly kicked against by various unions.

Continued call for compensation to affected residents on the ongoing circular roads.

Continued appointment of commissioners in the Ministry of Environment

Expected delivery of 6 megawatts of Independent Power Plant of the proposed 11 megawatts within the State Secretariat, among others. 

If we look at all of these, is there no need for political struggle to a progressive leadership. The war spoke about is never to cause violence, or undue agitation in Oyo State, rather a call of readiness to return to power legitimately in 2027. 

Many thanks to all leaders led by Oloye Teslim Folarin, the appointed state Ambassador of Renewed Hope Agenda for charging course for peace, stability and unity within the All Progressives Congress. This alone is a jittery for the People's Democratic Party in Oyo State. 

Ambassador Florence Ajimobi is a compassionate, mother politician, and philanthropist of various motherless and less privileged. Show me comparison with the current first lady- Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde now.

Mrs. Ajimobi as it stands  has raised more than twenty motherless Children in a hospitable environment, while some of them have graduated from universities today. If you call that a war, she is a combatant in that.

She is the initiator of "Educate a Rural Child"-a silently support giver to disadvantage d children in the state, if you call that war, she is an expert in that.

On health issues, she is the founder of A.B.C – "Access to Basic Health," an NGO, established for heavily subsidized medical facilities. If that is your definition of war. 

Certainly, Mrs. Ajimobi is a student of Common Sense Revolution. The political war of 2027 is not a war of AK-47. It is a common sense revolution. Those who are trying to disparage the Character of Mrs Ajimobi should stop or come out clean and clear that PDP jitters for a singular 'political war'.
