Govt Seizes Chemically Ripened Fruits in Oyo Market, Issues Health Warning By Olawale Ogunbusola As part of ongoing efforts to protect residents from the dangers of unsafe food practises, the Oyo State Government has intercepted and seized chemically ripened fruits during a food safety enforcement exercise at a market in Oyo town. The operation was carried out today, by officials of the Department of Food, Water and Laboratory Services of the State Ministry of Health, following an anonymous tip-off.  During the exercise, about 12 baskets of mangoes artificially ripened with chemicals were confiscated, having been prepared for sale to unsuspecting members of the public. Plans 60,000 Laptops for WAEC CBT By Olawale Ogunbusola The Oyo State Government has reaffirmed its preparedness for the official commencement of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) examinations. This is in line with the Federal Government’s directive for a gradual transition from pen-and-paper to full digital testing. The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon.
