PDP expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, others over anti-party involvement, sacks 21 NWC

The People's Democratic Party has expelled current minister of the Federal Capital Terrritory, Nyesom Wike, Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, Umar Bature, Samuel Anyanwu, Kamorudeen Ajibade over antipartyism.
The expulsion came during the 2025 National Convention held at Lekan Salami Adamasingba, Ibadan on Saturday.
In a motion moved by its chieftain, Bode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, the expelled chieftains of the party were described as individuals who had grossly involved with anti-party activities, thereby affecting the party's strength and democratic trust.
Similarly, the party dissolved its structures in Bayelsa, Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom owing to defection of its respective state Governors to the All Progressives Congress which undoubtedly will help to rebuild the party's formidability ahead of the 2027 General Elections, including sacking the Current 21 National Working Committee.
Meanwhile, the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Rivers State Governor, Similayi Fubara and Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas were absent at the National Convention, while Umar Damagum was voted unopposed as the national chairman in the next four years before 3,000 delegates from across the thirty-six states of the federation.
