All is set for the 4th Edition of Journalist Olawale Ogunbusola School Competition and Awards scheduled to hold on November 4th, 2025 at the prestigious National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan. 

In a press release made available to newsmen by the convener of the event on Tuesday, Olawale Ogunbusola, noted that the event, being annually organized is another platform of raising students’ competence, confidence and exposure towards sound education, and as well awarding some personalities in their respective class and profession for more exploits, as a token of his societal contribution.



The chairmen of the event are Governor Seyi Makinde’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju and Senior Special Assistant to Oyo Central Senator on Media and Publicity, Hon. Kunle Olatunji. 

The fathers of the day are Chairman, Prince 89.7FM Ibadan, Dr. Babatunde Balogun Oruomeniowo and Pastor Tayo Olatunji.

Other special guests include, Oyo State Trade Union Chairman and former PENGASSAN Financial Secretary, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, Senior Special on Broadcast Media to Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Bosede Sodiq, son of late governor of Oyo State and chief executive director officer of 11-11-12, Mr. Adetunji Lam-Adesina, Former Director Oyo State Sports Council and CAF Competition Manager, Elder Babtunde Oloyede,  Zonal Director, National Commission for Museums and Monument, South West, Nigeria, Mrs. Oriyomi Pamela Otuka , ENT Specialist, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Dr.  Oyetunji Oluokun, Director, Alliance Francaise, Ibadan, Mrs. Olaide Turner-Moyet, Registrar (Exams) Oyo State Ministry of education, Mr. Johnson Awodeji, Representatives of SQI College of ICT & Robotics, Max-African Publishers, Ige sam, K-Dray, among others.  

The guest speakers are Professor of Religion, Ethics and Sociology, University of Ibadan, Professor Kehinde Jacob Ayantayo, Brother of former Dean, Faculty of Environmental Management and Design, Lead City University, Ibadan and Chief Executive Director, Buff-I-Limited, Engr. Dr. Anthony Adeniji, Assistant Director of Medical Social Services, University of Ibadan, Mr. Olagunju Adelayo shall discuss trending discourses including "Combating Fire, Flood Menace", "When Will Religious Crisis end?" " Addressing Cultism among students" in Nigeria, Africa and the World at large.

The statement added that ten private and public schools have been invited as duly approved by the Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, including Springs of Wisdom, Kulodi,  New Ife Road, Ibadan, St. Louis Grammar School, Mokola, Lord’s Banner School, Ile Tuntun- Ogungbade, Community College High School, Alarere, Lantem Private School, Gbagi, Outstanding Basic Academy School, Amuloko, Ibadan, Immanuel College High School, UI Road.

Others are Qiblah School, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Bashorun-Oojo High School, Ibadan, Unique Private School, General Gas, Ibadan

The awards recipient at the 2025 Edition include: The Guardians’ Reporter, Rotimi Agboluaje, News Agency of Nigeria’s Camera Reporter, Adewale Owoade, Prince FM’s Head of Operations 1 and Traffic and Accounts, Pastor Adewale Adeiwa, and Ms. Mercy Omoki, Regional Overseer of  
Mountain of Fire and Miracles’ Ministries, Gbagi, Dr. Stephen Oyedele, 2027 Egbeda Aspiring Lawmaker, Hon. Oyejide Adeniyi, Founder, Springs of Wisdom Schools, Mrs. Opeyemi Adabaale,10 others.

The event which will be anchored by former Jamz 100.1FM’s Presenter, Adeola Ibrahim, is scheduled to commence by 8am for participating schools, while lectures and award session begin formally by 9.30am with over 250 guests in anticipation.
