2027: Makinde will deliver due democracy if turned President-Oyo PDP

The People's Democratic Party in Oyo State has pulled weight behind Governor Seyi Makinde's Presidential Bid ahead of the 2027 General Elections. 

This came on Thursday at a media engagement after the newly inaugurated State Party Executive Coyuncil met at the Party, Molete in Ibadan.

Speaking, Chairman, Oyo State People's Democratic Party, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro lauded the giant strides of Governor Seyi Makinde led government describing it onion of expected good leadership which must be craved for by Nigerians. 

Hon. Ogungbenro re-emphasized the good governance in Oyo State, saying this has helped to draw more public love, loyalty and commitment and endorsement of the governor for Presidency of the National Convention slated for November 15-16 in Ibadan. 

He described Governor Seyi Makinde as an emulating personality by other opposition governors owing to transparency and accountability in his administrative style.

" I know and Governor Seyi Makinde will emerge victorious at the national convention, with victory at the polls. For the past six years, Governor Seyi Makinde has unstoppably paid workers salaries with other developmental projects across the state, then, if he has the opportunity to rule at the centre, then there will be unequal turnround."

While assuring the party's readiness to hold a historically peaceful national convention on 15th and 16th of November, added that the party will return to power in 2027 for due democratic governance in the country.

"The agenda of the newly inaugurated executive council is to deliver 2027 victorious for the People's Democratic Party", he noted.

He reechoed readiness of the newly inaugurated state executive council to work the party's return to power in 2027, calling Oyo State citizens and teeming Nigerians to renew their trust in the party as to move the country from poverty to prosperity.

" There is no amount at hand now that can fetch you your wants, socio-economic situation under the government at the centre is worse. Inflation and insecurity have remained a subject. Let me tell you, Governor Seyi Makinde, is the only person that can work to strengthen the nation's socio-economic order. Then, his victory at both the National Convention and in the 2027 General should be a choice by every Nigerian.

Meanwhile, the PDP 

while raising concern about the insecurity threat into the south western part of Nigeria, as evidently recorded in Kwara State, particularly, Ifelodun Area of the state calling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies and other stakeholder for a holistic approach to tackle it.

"It is very unfortunate. I read the attacks because some people sent some video clips of what had happened in Kwara State, particularly in the Ifepodun Local Government area of the state."

"I don't know, and don't want to condemn anybody but I think there is need for proactive action and engagement from the central government. The government must do the needful, otherwise the country is in serious problem," he said.

At the meeting included deputy chairman, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke, Publicity Secretary, Michael Ogunsina, other members of the newly inaugurated members of the State Executive.
