Saki West Indigenes demand accountability in Makinde's #300 billion naira loan request,' Stop Ibrahim Shittu's bullying, smearing'- APC Chieftain
The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Saki West Local Government, Tajudeen Okunola has criticized the secret approval of a ₦300 billion loan during the ongoing six-week recess.
The dissatisfaction which was blown out by member, representing Saki West Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Shittu revealing that the loan was approved on August 19 and finalized on August 26 in an emergency sitting that excluded many members.
The APC Chieftain has demanded transparency and accountability in the loan's terms, interest rates, repayment schedule, and intended use, emphasizing the need for the government to explain the rationale behind the loan and why increased revenues have not translated into development for Saki West and the entire State.
Saki West APC Leader noted that the approval process has raised concerns about democratic oversight and the erosion of legislative independence.
He credited Hon. Shittu's whose boldness and love of transparency have helped to show the public the loan approval without proper consultation or debate, thereby sparking fears about the potential impact on the state's finances.
The APC has called on the Seyi Makinde led government to address the developmental needs of Saki West, including fixing internal roads, reviving health facilities, upgrading schools, and empowering farmers, insisting on transparency and accountability in governance, adding that his member's great refusal to sit will do the state from unchallenged loan request.

While Governor Makinde's spokesperson has responded to the allegations, calling the concerned APC lawmaker a figure ignorant, however, the Saki West APC Party has demanded all- inclusivity, transparency and true democracy for benefits of all citizens in Oyo State.
