The South West Zonal Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the party and commitment to its unity, stability, progress, and success.
In a caucus communique signed by Southwest PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati at the end of its meeting held on Friday at the Olusoji Adagunodo South West PDP Zonal Secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The party expressed appreciation to Executive Governors Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Ademola Adeleke of Osun State for their roles in ensuring the stability and growth of the PDP in the zone, reaffirmed that the PDP in the South West is intact and urge all organs and relevant bodies to remain focused and work towards the successful conduct of the scheduled National Convention.
While the party denied reports of a coalition with other parties and urge members to remain united and steadfast behind their leaders, supported the position of the National Working Committee (NWC) that the party remains open to working with other like-minded citizens to rescue the nation from the APC.
The caucus also resolved to intensify efforts to ensure PDP victory in forthcoming bye-elections in Oyo and Ogun States, as well as the Local Government Council election in Lagos State demanding the immediate release of the withheld Osun State Local Government Allocation, describing it as unconstitutional and a violation of the rights and wellbeing of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, the caucus expressed concern over worsening insecurity and economic hardship in the country under the APC administration, while commending Governors Makinde and Adeleke for their people-oriented leadership.
