Egbeda APC Elder's Council Endorses Bola Tinubu's 2nd Term in office, advocates unity ahead 2027 General Elections

The Elder's Council of the All Progressives Congress in Egbeda Local Government has endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

This formed basis of its deliberation at its Tuesday's critical stakeholders' Meeting held at the APC Local Government Party Secretariat, Iwo Road, Ibadan which gathered federal lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi.

In his remarks, the local government party chairman, Comrade Olawale Olaleye noted that the party has grown wings across the country, with enviable developmental projects over the last two years under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He added that the success recorded so far are also credited to functional human resources around him, thereby making his plans, projects and policies positively effectual.

The professional chartered accountant and grassroots leader lauded the democratic delivery of lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi,which he said has greatly reduced democratic deficits at the grassroots due to neglect created by the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, despite the Supreme Court Ruling on local government autonomy in July, 2024.

" Performance of our own dear lawmaker, Hon. Akin Alabi is felt socially, economically, politically and democratically. So far so good, his performance serves a testament to fine performance of the All Progressives Congress at the Federal Constituency, local developing areas of the country, at large."

"Akin Alabi is a pride to us. We need this kind of performance to resonate across Oyo State. I know someday, precisely in 2027, the dream and prophecy about this will become a reality", he posited.

Speaking, lawmaker representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi appreciated the elders of the party, adding that their vision and love for the party have remained onions of his good representation.

While Hon. Alabi reiterated the need for unity among the members, said only through unity the future representation and leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and Nigeria will be easy.

He urged aggrieved members of the party to unite ahead of the 2027 General Elections, saying only through this the party can sustain good democracy.

"Let us be more focused, united and objective. 2027 Election can only be won through a united voice. Let us forget grudges against members. Love, patriotism and focus must be a watchword", he said.

Meanwhile, the federal lawmaker announced plans to fund a mega free eye test, surgeries and glasses services for 5,000 constituents from July 28th to August 1st 2025 in Ibadan, calling members and non -members of the party to attend, especially those who have been facing optics challenges, assuring of funding eye surgeries as may be recommended by ophthalmologists at the exercise.

Earlier, the chairman, Avant Garde Support Group of the All Progressives Congress in Egbeda and Oyo State, Hon. Tayo Olatunji described the All Progressives Congress as a party of light and redemption, calling for an absolute support of the citizens with the Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, whom he said will restructure and bring sanity into the nation's polity.

Hon. Olatunji, also lauded the versatility of Hon. Akin Alabi, which he said has been well recognized even by the leaders of the People's Democratic Party in Oyo State, including Governor Seyi Makinde, abs Youth Leader and Acting spokesperson of the party, Hon. Michael Ogunsina, assuring him of fuller support by Avant Garde Support Group and entire youths in the Federal Constituency.

"No gainsaying, Hon. Akin Alabi is the man of the people. His works now speak for him. The People's Democratic Party Leaders including Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Michael Ogunsina have publicly echoed this.", he said. 

Present at the Stakeholders' Meeting included Hon. Suara Elegbeda, Hon. Biliaminu Ogundele, Director General of Akin Alabi Campaign Organization, Hon. Debo Amoo, Hon. Murewa Adeboje, All Ward Chairmen, Avant Garde Chairman, Tayo Olatunji, youths, among others.
