The Laribikusi Ruling House has distanced itself from the purported "re-coronation" of Samuel Adegbola as the new Eleruwa of Eruwa, citing a flagrant disregard for the traditions and customs of the Eruwa people.

According to the ruling house, Adegbola's return to the throne is an affront to their heritage and a violation of the rotational system established by the 1958 Eleruwa Chieftaincy Declaration.

The Laribikusi Ruling House also questioned Adegbola's royal lineage, stating that his great-grandfather was a settler from Igbo-Ora.

"With his 'Ajobo' title, Samuel Adegbola has confirmed the historical fact that his great grandfather was a settler from Igbo-Ora," the ruling house said.

It further stressed that there is no Ajobo or Akindele royal lineage in the Eruwa Royal Family.

The ruling house alleged that the current political powers in Oyo State under the leadership of Engineer Seyi Makinde for disregarding the right process of selecting a new Eleruwa, despite its efforts to inform the government about the issue.

"Open letters were written to the governor, petitions, press conferences, media announcements were done to let the government know that the right process of selecting new Eleruwa was not duly followed," the statement read.

Meanwhile, the Laribikusi Ruling House vowed to take all necessary steps to protect the interests of Eruwa town and its people, as to ensure that traditional institutions are respected and preserved according to their customs and traditions.

"We will seek justice for ourselves and our ancestors. No matter how long it takes, victory is assured, and justice will prevail," the ruling house added.

The ruling house implored the peace-loving people of Eruwa to maintain law and order and conduct themselves in a peaceful manner, quoting the Yoruba proverb, "Onilu koni fe ki ilu ohun kobaje," which translates to "A village man unites his clansmen"

Thus, the Laribikusi Ruling House is determined to challenge Adegbola's re-coronation and ensure that the traditional institutions of Eruwa are preserved.
