Former House of Representatives Member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola Federal Constituency, Hon. Shina Peller, has declared his intention to contest the Oyo North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 General Elections.

Peller made this announcement while addressing newsmen at Trenchard Hall, University of Ibadan after the Federation of Oyo State Students' Union Summit.

The Ayedero of Iseyin emphasized the need for effective governance to promote youth leadership, mobilization, and citizenship in Nigeria. He credited Governor Seyi Makinde's administration for its unprecedented democratic delivery.

Peller, who defected to the Accord Party from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023, stated that his intention is to deliver the dividends of democracy to youths in Oyo State and Nigeria. He expressed confidence in the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) ability to rule Oyo State beyond 2027, citing Governor Makinde's good leadership and agenda.

Peller reaffirmed his readiness to contest the Oyo North Senatorial seat, seeking to build on the progress made in the state.
