Today, violent non-state actors (Boko Haram terror group, ISWAP, Lakurawa, Human Body parts traders, armed separatist groups, Land grabbers, Nomadic terrorists, Street Gangs, erroneously called cultists, kidultnappers, Local and international terror financiers, etc,) have taken over all the geo-political zones in Nigeria.
An average Nigerian is exposed to no fewer than eleven security threats. The practice of "enclave economy", fuelled by imperialist forces, has been one of the critical causes of democratisation of violence. heavily weighing down democratization of peace and security.
Instead of the Tinubu government to listen and take executable and systemic actions against all the armed non-state actors, efforts are being geared towards politicisation of security: focusing liberal economy, organising and campaigning for 2027 general elections of about two years to come. Genocide of horrendous magnitude is going on in Plateau and Benue states.
Party leaders are busy with coalition theory instead of workable solution to security matters. Nauseating defections are taking place to the ruling and ruining party.
How much of economic growth can be sustained in a country fractured and destroyed by terrorism?
What is the essence of increased foreign exchange to the people who are hungry and ailing?
We must prioritize the DEMOCRATISATION of peace and security and depoliticize security through legislative means before it is too late.
