CAF Competition Manager, Oloyede felicitates school mate, Onanuga on National Award

Former Director, Oyo State Sports Council and CAF Competition Manager, Elder Babatunde Oloyede has described Bayo Onanuga , the special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, as best meriting personality for the recent Commander of the Order of the Niger national award.
The Sports Administrator noted that Bayo Onanuga, CON, merited the award, adding that from secondary school days he knew him taking the leading role, uniquely.
He said the brilliance of the President's aide was more evident by his winning in the competitive John F. Kennedy Easy Competition Scholarship to study Mass Communication at the University of Lagos State.
In a felicitation statement personally signed by Elder Babatunde Oloyede, and made available to newsmen on Friday, Bayo Onanuga was described as a personality with impeccable character and embodiment of dedication, loyalty and focus.
He noted that awarding the respected journalist by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside notable Nigerians on June 12, 2025 X-rayed reaping his all years positive contributions to the Media Sphere and the country at large.
He said," I knew him as a good patriot, miracle being and ever loyal. All of us back then at Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode rejoice with Mr Bayo Onanuga, CON, for the honour. This is the evidence that he was monitored, and honoured for loyalty, dedication, vision and focus. He is a pride to I, Elder Babatunde Oloyede. I pray this award begins his more heights in life", he said.
As a colleague in Secondary School felicitates and congratulate him on the National Award of Commander Order of Niger (CON) received few days ago from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I say a big "CONGRATULATIONS" to an erudite journalist, Mr Adebayo Onanuga, CON.", he added.
Recall, Mr Bayo Onanuga studied at Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu -Ode between 1970 and 1974 and wrote West African Examination Council in the College. He attended University of Lagos in the early eighties.
He won the then highly competitive John F. Kennedy Easy Competition, the American Scholarship he used at the University of Lagos for his first degree in Mass Communication.
During the tenure of immediate past President of Nigeria General Muhammad Buhari(Rtd) appointed as Managing Director of News Agency of Nigeria before appointed as Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to Nigeria's President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu since 2023 until now.
