Children's Day: Arts Experts Advocate for Child Rights Protection in Nigeria

Arts and crafts experts have called for the protection of child rights to ensure a better future for children in Nigeria.
This call was made during the 2025 Children's Day Event organized by the National Museum of Unity in Aleshinloye, Ibadan.
The event's theme, "For every child, every right," emphasized the importance of upholding children's rights as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Curator and South West Zonal Director, National Museum of Unity, Aleshinloye, Ibadan, Mrs. Oriyomi Pamela Otuka stressed that every child has the right to life, survival, and development; urging parents, guardians, and the government to prioritize protecting children from violence, abuse, and neglect to enable them develop their talents.
Speaking, the Co-ordinator of the 2025 International Children's Day, Mr. Adedoja Taofeek, encouraged children to defend their rights and strive for quality education, healthcare, and protection from harm.
In his goodwill message, Deputy Director of the National Museum of Unity, Mrs. Oyeyemi Tinubu, appealed to wealthy individuals and private organizations to support the annual project.
In their separate reactions, parents and children expressed their delight with the event, called on the government to provide vital facilities and infrastructure to promote children's participation and competition.
Over 700 children from various schools and homes participated in the event, which included games, symposiums, chants, gift presentations, museum tours, matchpasts and free meals.
