Oyo State PDP Mourns the Passing of Chief Yekini Adeojo

The Oyo State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is mourning the loss of one of its most revered leaders, Chief Yekini Adeojo, who passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Chief Adeojo was a highly respected elder statesman, political colossus, and pillar of democracy in Oyo State and Nigeria. He played a pivotal role in shaping the state's and nation's political landscape as the first PDP gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, a former member of the PDP Board of Trustees, and a key mentor to Governor Seyi Makinde.

Beyond politics, Chief Adeojo was a distinguished religious leader, serving as the Seriki Adinni of Yoruba Muslims. He demonstrated immense commitment to promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony. His influence extended to philanthropy, community development, and uplifting countless individuals.

Chief Adeojo's legacy lives on through his children, including Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, and Hon. Elias Adeojo, Chairman of the Oyo State Water Corporation.

The Oyo State PDP has directed that all party flags be flown at half-mast across the state to mourn this irreplaceable loss. The party extends its deepest condolences to Chief Adeojo's family, friends, associates, and the people of Oyo State.

As stated by Hon. Micheal Ogunsina, Acting Publicity Secretary, Oyo State PDP, "We pray that Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grants him Aljannah Firdaus."
