We'll upgrade Sabo Market to International standard- Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde has revealed the plans to upgrade Sabo Market to International Standard.

The governor revealed this while the Hausa Community led by the Jarmai of Ibadanland, Alhaji Danjuma Yakubu paid him a condolence visit at his residence over the demise of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

Governor Makinde asserted that alongside fixing of the market roads, the rehabilitation of the market structures would be done in such a way that it will attract visitors to the state and there will be ease of doing business.

The Governor said he has charged the appropriate officials to collate accurate data of shop owners at the Sabo market to ensure that the same current shop owners are the major beneficiaries of the rehabilitation project when concluded without paying a dime.

Also speaking, the Jarmai of Ibadanland, Alhaji Danjuma Yakubu, condoled the governor and appreciated his rehabilitation plans, stating that the market has been in a dreadful condition, with lingering fears lurking daily in the mind of the traders.

He acknowledged the hospitality the Governor and the citizens of the state have shown to the Hausas, which has fostered unity between the different tribes in the state.
