Oyo State governor’s Press crew have felicitated the Executive Assistant on Security Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde, Retired CP Sunday Odukoya, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary celebration.
The newsmen who hosted the Governor’s aide briefly on Monday at the Press Room, Governor’s Office, Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan, described Odukoya as dependable and lover of the media.
The former Commissioner of Police and ally of Governor Seyi Makinde, was brilunatly well-wished by the media professionals who have been working closely with him over the years.
Described by many as a “true friend of the media,”, retired CP Odukoya’s relationship with journalists is built on mutual respect, trust, and collaboration
Recall Odukoya all years built his career on open-door policy, with usual readiness and willingness to offer valuable insights, smooth communication between the government and the the Press, therefore earning him credible reputation as one of the most media-friendly official, in the service of Oyo state.
At a modest gathering held at the Press Room today, journalists shared stories of their interactions with the retired police officer, and highlighted his transparency and accessibility.
“Compol Odukoya is one of the few public servants who truly understands the role of the media in promoting good governance.
“He has always made our work easier, offering honest answers and deepening a positive relationship between the government and the people,” said one of the senior journalists present at the celebration.
Compol Odukoya, in his response, thanked the journalists for their kind words and support saying: “The media plays a crucial role in shaping public opinion and keeping leaders accountable.
“I have always believed that a good working relationship between the press and the government is key to achieving transparency and progress.”
