Holy Trinity Old Students Association holds maiden meeting, plans 60th Anniversary ahead 2025

The Holy Trinity Grammar School Old Students Association has held its maiden Annual General Meeting at the school premises, marking a historic milestone in the school history.

The event gathered over 500 registered members of the association attended the programme, and  plenty of non-registered and virtually participated members. 

During the meeting, former students united in song, proudly singing the newly adopted National Anthem, the Oyo State Anthem, and the School Anthem, setting a celebratory tone for the gathering.

The National President, Aare Adesina Idowu Adegoke while calling for unity, and respect among members, highlighted achievements since August 2023, including, establishment of national bank account, quarterly meetings with set leaders, installation of an old student, Mrs. Olanike Makinde, as Principal, supporting the school’s inter-house sports competition.

 Others are registration with Corporate Affairs Commission, constitution review, inauguration of a Board of Trustees, fundraising for school projects, academic collaboration and enhancement support.

In his keynote address, Head of Department, Politics and International Relations, LeadCity University, Ibadan, Professor Akeem Adekunle Amodu emphasized old students’ collective responsibility towards shaping the school’s future. 

The professor of Politics maintained the need for an improved infrastructure, scholarships, mentorship, advocacy, and school identity on educational institutions' development in Nigeria.

The Treasurer, Elder Remi Akinyode, presented a financial report, which received unanimous approval from those in attendance. The meeting concluded with alumni engaging in social activities that encouraged networking and reminiscense, marking a successful day dedicated to the future of HTGS.

The AGM featured committee appointments, reports, and awards to outstanding old students.

The successful event gave rise  for continued progress and positive impact as NOSA-HTGS looks forward to its celebrating 60th-anniversary in September 2026.
