Tinubu, Akintunde are true democrats- Oyo Central Senator's aide, Hon. Taoreed Akande

A Liasion officer to senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Yunus Akintunde on Political Matters in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Taoreed Akande has described the President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his principal, distinguished senator Dr. Yunus Akintunde as true democrats.

The senator's aide made the statement after a-two hour meeting with some members of the All Progressive's Congress, APC support group, Avant Garde, in Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State on Friday.

Addressing the newsmen, Hon. Akande said it is certain there has been hardship in the country from time past, which undoubtedly the long recommended fuel subsidy removal by the global economists has eventuated more woes to the nation's economy.

The politician insisted that the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been achieving successes in the power sector, while more efforts are ongoing towards ensuring stability of the energy sector which is believed heightens ninety (90) percent of the nation's economy.

Akande added that the administration of Tinubu is now ready to diversify the energy to Compressed Natural Gas, CNG, which is predominantly abundant in thirty (30) of the thirty-six (36) states of the federation, which when fully harnessed will save the country from undue debt servicing owing to imported refined crude oil into the country, for an enviable socio-economic development. 

" Just yesterday, the President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR launched Ibadan Conversion Incentive Programme under the Presidential CNG-Initiative, led by Hon. Michael Oluwagbemi in Ibadan, such that transport and commerce related organizations will have between 50 and 100 percent incentive on embrace of CNG Conversion as this also will reduce effect of climate change in our country. This is one out of the plenty that the president has begun since May 29 2023.", he said.

Speaking on local government autonomy, Hon.Taoreed Akande applauded the visionary mission of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Supreme Court Verdict over the move on local government autonomy, saying the ruling will enable true development of the grassroots across the country, while accountability and responsibility of local government council chairmen could only be more guaranteed.

While calling for patience among Nigerians for the present led administration as it tries to roll out relief packages, Hon. Akande noted that the Oyo Central Senatorial District, which elected Dr. Yunus Akintunde is fortunate.

The senator's aide said his principal has greatly touched the eleven (11) local government of his Constituency with borehole drillings, school buildings, road facilitations, varieties of  gender empowerment, solar powered street lightings to religious settings, health centres, public and transport points, communities, among others.

Meanwhile, Hon. Taoreed Akande called other serving lawmakers and politicians to see their respective positions as a call to service and enrichment of democracy in the country.
