shun life anxiety for longevity-Makinde tells Nigerians

Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde has called Nigerians to shun anxiety about life for longevity.

 The call came while attending the National People's Democratic Party Deputy Vice-Chairman(South), Ambassador Taofeek Arabaja's mother's 8th Day Friday held at Jogor Event Centre, Ring Road, Ibadan on Wednesday.

Makinde said that the deceased, Alhaja Nimotallah Odee Arapaja who lived for 95 years, took life simple with good character, in spite of challenges in her time.

“We thank God for this celebration of life. We cannot question the will of God on her passing at 95.
“For those who are here who didn’t know Mama, I believe you know her products, Ambassador Arapaja and his siblings. Their good deeds towards humanity have brought everyone of us here for this celebration.
“That means Mama lived a fulfilled life and has left good products behind.
“It is our prayer that God grants repose to her soul.”

The governor while sympathizing with the family, and children of the deceased, noted that it is evident that the deceased's  children were an epitome of good virtue, thereby enabling their positive impacts in the society, this, Nigerians must embrace for longevity and progress.

Meanwhile, Seyi Makinde promised to continue his socio-economic plans and policies for more relief and sustainable development in the state.

The event had in attendance the Acting PDP National Chairman, Ambassador Iliyas Damagum; a former governor of Osun State, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Oyo State Deputy Governors, Engr. Hamid Gbadamosi and Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi.

Also in attendance were the PDP National Vice Chairman (South-West), Chief  Kamorudeen Ajisafe; co-chairman of the Oyo State Elders Council, Dr Saka Balogun; chairman of the Oyo State Advisory Council, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN) and members of the Council, including Senator Monsura Sunmonu.

Top government functionaries who attended the event with the governor included the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi; Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin; and Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Simeon Oyeleke, among others.
