Makinde presents staff and instrument of office to 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin

Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has installed and presented staff and instrument of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin.

The installation and presentation ceremony held on Friday at the ancient Mapo Hall, Oja'aba in Ibadan following his crowning by the chief makers.

Speaking the executive governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde said the coronation is a testament of resilience of the people of Ibadanland, wishing him a successful reign.

Representing the president of the federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, minister of power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, said Ibadanland 's monarchial seat is a role model in Yorubaland ,called the new monarch to uphold the high respected tradition for more successful milestone in Oyo State.

In his acceptance speech, the newly crowned Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin appreciated the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde, Ibadan land indigenes, other southwest governors including Ondo, Osun,Ogun and Lagos for their huge support which has undoubtedly formalized his installation.

 Oyo state Commissioner for Local Government And Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo appreciated every citizen of the state, describing them instrumental to the success of the coronation ceremony.

The governor of Ogun State and chairman of the southern Governors, Prince Dapo Abiodun said the ceremony marked essence of monarchial tradition stability of the southern region since 1851.

Earlier in her welcome address, Secretary to the Oyo state government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo appreciated the present led administration in the country, especially in Oyo state for continuously building good legacies and institution, wishing the new monarch a successful reign.

The coronation was witnessed deputy governor of the state, Bayo Lawal, deOni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adewusi Adeyeye, Sultan of Sokoto, Sheikh Abubakar Sa'ad southwest governors, serving and past deputy governors, lawmakers, traditional rulers, among others.
