Makinde installs Alawe of Awe after 33 years
Oyo state government has called all the traditional rulers in the state to support its administration in the area of security for due sustainable development.
The charge was made by the state governor, Seyi Makinde, who was represented by the deputy governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal at the official coronation and presentation of staff of office to Alaawe of Awe, His Royal Majesty Oba Cornelius Taiwo Oladokun on Friday.
Governor Makinde stressed that the traditional rulers play a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in their respective domains, which is essential for the implementation of developmental projects and initiatives.
Earlier in his address, Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo said that the coronation will help to unify the town, calling the indigenes to support the newly coronated monarch.
In his acceptance speech, the Alaawe of Awe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Cornelius Taiwo Oladokun promised to support the state government in bringing sustainable development to Awe town and to co-operate with all other traditional rulers for continued unity and progress in the state.
Recall, His Royal Majesty, Oba Cornelius Taiwo Oladokun who was coronated today, received his official staff of office after thirty-three(33) years as Alaawe of Awe-land.
