Just In: Oyo Central senator, Yunus Akintude donates street light to Egbeda Ward 9

A senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Yunus Akintunde has donated streetlights to ward 9 of Egbeda Local government.
The event witnessed by large number of residents and members of the All Progressive's Congress, APC, on Monday at Oluwo Ward 9 of the Egbeda Local government area of Oyo State.
The distinguished senator lauded the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu which has from assumption in office implemented policies that will improve socio-economic performance of the country.
Yunus Akintunde congratulated the federal government over the Thursday 11 July's recent Supreme Court Ruling on local government autonomy, describing it a better opium to grassroots development across the seven hundred and seventy four (774) local wards of the country.
The lawmaker expressed his displeasure as the present local government bosses in Oyo State have for years been hindered from due democratic performance due to financial autonomy dictated by the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, who has without hesitation insisted on inexperience of the council bosses when made autonomous.
He said it has turned a point of duty for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to activate the way forward to local government performance through the Supreme Court verdict which when well guided, local councils will enable the yearnings of the grassroots people be met.
However, Senator Yunus Akintunde maintained that aside lawmaking, he would continue to deliver concrete dividends of democracy to his constituents such as providing solar lightings, facilitation of roads, educational materials, funding scholarships, among others.
In his contribution, a chieftain of the All Progressives' Congress,APC, in Egbeda Local Government area, Hon. Biliaminu Ogundele called the residents to continue to support the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration for more dividends.
In their separate remarks, the General Chairman, Oluwo Landlord Association, Pastor Solomon Adeyemi, and Baale of Loogun, Alhaji Wakili Jimoh, expressed their delight, while urging other politicians to exemplify the distinguished Senator towards distribution of democratic dividends, assured of due monitoring of the donated streetlights, which believably will enhance socio-economic activities in the area.
