Akin Alabi Facilitates primary school building at Egbeda Ward 10, renovates six Urban Day Grammar classrooms

Following the political promise of the House Representative's Member, representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal Constituency, Hon. Akin Alabi, before his second term in legislative session, the federal lawmaker flagged off construction of a six block of primary school classrooms at Ward 10 of Egbeda Local Government Area.

The flag off ceremony of the primary school construction held at Adegbayi, along New Ife Road, Ibadan, Oyo state on Monday.

Speaking, the second term federal lawmaker, Akin Alabi appreciated his constituents for due cooperation and resilience with the present led administration under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Akin Alabi noted that education of any nation can only be improved if taken seriously from the elementary, and the facilitated project will in no small reduce out of school statistics in Oyo state, especially within Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency.

" Education of a nation begins from elementary, and through sincere funding, all necessary facilities including library, classrooms, laboratory rooms, and others will be put in place"

" Obviously, my decision to embark on this kind of a project here at Adegbayi, Ward 10 of my federal constituency will help to reduce the number of out of school children, and enable self discovery. We still need more primary schools in our constituency for mind renewal and development.", he said.

The federal lawmaker hinted on the need for every politician in the country to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who has begun implementation of student loan scheme which when fully mechanized will make Nigeria a more better centre of excellence and epitome to other African countries, saying the country has needed human and non-human  resources for socio-economic thriving.

In his reaction, the contractor in charge of the classroom construction, Engineer Andrews Mkure of Evalob Constructions said the construction would be  world class within the federal constituency, adding that the project delivery was expected within two months, with all expected facilities including head teacher's office, mini hall, playground, and toilets.

In their goodwills, Village head of Adegbayi Community, and other members of the community, expressed their delight for having first primary school since 70's.

The residents, who described Akin Alabi most available federal lawmaker since inception of the full fledged democracy in Nigeria, far back in 1999, lauded the initiative, called other lawmakers to follow suit while quest to providing the needs of their constituents be made a priority and not only about law making.

Similarly, the federal lawmaker, who is also chairman Federal House of Representative's Committee on Public Works made an oversight visit to his alma mater, Urban Day Grammar School, Old Ife Road, at Ward 11 of Egbeda/Ona Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker expressed his displeasure with the state of facilities within the school, which plenty of classrooms have almost gone down despite huge fund the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde claimed to have committed to education.

Akin Alabi expressed his readiness to address the educational institution's  infrastructural deficit within the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, noted that he would renovate six of the dilapidated classrooms as to enable the ease of teaching and learning process in the school.

Speaking on behalf of the Urban Day Grammar School, Old Ife Road, Ibadan, senior school Principal, Vice-Principal, (Administration), Mr Oladiran, appreciated the federal lawmaker, added that shortage of classrooms which has been a huge concern owing to destruction by natural phenomenon, noted that in no doubt would serve a boost for students ahead of the 2024/25 Academic session.

The flag off and inspection had in attendance leaders and chieftains of the All Progressives' Congress APC, in Egbeda Local government area, including APC Party Chairman, Comrade Olaleye, Hon. Dele Biliaminu Ogundele, Hon. Adebowale Amoo, Hon. Murewa Adeboje,a support group, Egbeda APC Avant Garde, Chairman, Tayo Olatunji, among others.
