In the midst of a contentious struggle for the vacant throne of Eleruwa, a voice of reason and justice has emerged, pleading for a just and fair resolution to this crisis.

The plea came from Prince Olusegun Adewale Oke, speaking on behalf of the Laribikusi ruling house of Agbaragba compound in Eruwa.

Similarly, an Oyo State High Court had on January 26, 2011 removed him, but not satisfied, he appealed the judgement.

In interview, Prince Oke warned against the dangers of emotional arguments, propaganda, and misinformation that have threatened to disrupt the peace and tranquility of the ancient town.

Oke emphasized the historical and legal context of the throne dispute, noting that the 1957 Eleruwa Chieftaincy Declaration established two recognized ruling houses - Laribikusi and Akalako.

He asserted that it is now the turn of the Laribikusi ruling house to produce the next Eleruwa, in accordance with this established tradition.

Prince Oke continued by stressing the importance of upholding the rule of law and the integrity of Eruwa's rich history and culture.

He, however, urged the Oyo State government to resist the "malicious efforts of those who would seek to sow discord and undermine the rule of law through falsehood and misinformation, adding that, ultimately, the call is for justice and peace in Eruwa's royal succession.

Oke then affirmed that the throne of Eleruwa rightfully belongs to the Laribikusi ruling house by blood, and that this is the only way to ensure a fair and peaceful resolution to the crisis.

Recall, the Eleruwa throne became vacant, following the dethronement of the then monarch, Oba Samuel Adegbola, by the Supreme Court on Friday November 29, 2019, twenty-one years after he ascended the throne of his forebears.
