United States President, Joe Biden says in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he is stepping down as a candidate in the 2024 election, and that he will speak to the nation “later this week” about his decision.
Dozens of congressional Democrats have publicly urged the 81-year-old to step aside after his shaky performance last month against Republican challenger Donald Trump, 78.

The stand off has left the party at a crossroads, just weeks before the Democratic National Convention kicks off on August 19 and less than four months until the November 5 election.
Recall, Joe Biden has been on isolation at his home in Delaware,USA last Thursday he was confirmed positive to Covid-19, aside continued accusation he has been losing mental performance due to old age as members of Republican say.
Meanwhile, Joe Biden has endorsed his vice-president Kamala Haris to carry on as a candidate ahead of the November Presidential Election, promised to give detail later this week while he makes a nationwide broadcast.
