Insecurity has no place in Oyo State- EA Security, Odukoya

Oyo State government has reassured its plan for an undiluted security of lives and properties of its citizens.
The assurance came during a Peace and Security Meeting organized by the office of Interfaith to the state governor, held at the Secretary to the State Government Conference Room, Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan on Thursday.
Speaking, the Executive Assistant on security to the state governor, Rt. CP Sunday Odukoya noted that the administration of Seyi Makinde has greatly invested in security which has continually increased socio-economic development of the state.
Odukoya, who represented the state governor, Seyi Makinde said the present administration will not toil will security, expressed his displeasure as citizens are not using the 615 Security Distress phone number as expected.
The governor maintained that his administration would continue to provide maximum logistics and manpower to the state security agencies across the state such as restored peace in some parts of Oke Ogun including Sooro, Baani, Maamu, Ogunmakin, Onigarin, calling parents to warn their wards against fomenting troubles.
" With all that the governor of Oyostate, Engineer Seyi Makinde has been put in place in the security sector of the state, I want to assure you that insecurity will have no place in the place, if also all hands are on deck. Parents must caution should teach their wards good morals against decadence which usually result in social disorder", Odukoya said.
"it is at this point we want to appreciate every journalist and media house for dispensing genuine information promptly, so as this administration, just that every citizen should ensure information flow to the appropriate quarters for swift action. Use 615 as a medium. You are protected and permitted to make your information on the platform of anonymity",
" Governor Makinde has consistentlyfunded the light-up Oyo Projects to stem down the tide of crininality in the evening, prompt purchase of security vehicle and recruitment of manpower where necessary. Take for instance, Oyo state started with 1500 Amotekun operatives, while other states including Lagos State took off with 300 personnel. Today, we have almost 2,000 Amotekun officers, with ongoing recruitment into the Corps. The Closed circuit Television,CCTV across the state are hyperactive. Seyi e has allocates 60 hectares of lands to the Nigerian Airforce to base in Ajia, with approval of access road from Airport-Ajia Road, this has eventuated approval of upgrade of the Ibadan Airport to an International Air travel Hub. What a huge success. ",
Odukoya added.
In his reaction, the special assistant on Interfaith to the state Governor, Reverend Dr. Femi Ibikunle who expressed delight in the summit which has touched entire eleven (11) local councils of Ibadan in recent times, said his office would continue to make efforts at preaching peaceful co-existence, and forming a collaboration with all the local government administrators for reconciliation and religious tolerance across the thirty-three local councils of the state.
"Today's event began in about three weeks ago, obviously, we have toured the thirty three councils of the state, including Oke-Ogun, Oyo, and today it ends here in Ibadan."
"The eleven councils of Ibadan have been captured either. The essence of this summit is to further educate the religious leaders, including Christians, Muslims and Traditionalists on the need to give room for religious tolerance and peace which will help to aggregate the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde on security building. He has greatly spent on the sector for a socio-economic progress of the state."
"Today, it gladdens my heart that the importance of security distress number 615 has been well understood, such that the religious leaders here test run for confirmation."
"The chairman of CAN in Ibadan land, Reverend Timothy Morakinyo expressed his interest as only today he had learned about the security control number's efficacy. I will continue to use the opportunity Goveenor Seyi Makinde has given me to preach peace and religious tolerance.", he said.
In their separate remarks, the religious leaders, including General co-ordinator of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ibadanland, Reverend Dr. Timothy Morakinyo, and Deputy Chief Imam of Government House, Alhaji Nurudeen Alowonle, and Araba of Ibadan land, Araba Ifalere Odegbola lauded the state government for its friendlier policies on socio-economic activities, called for more recruitment of operatives of Amotekun Corps for peace and security of communities across the state, while peace and security meetings be extended to the local government areas of the state.
Earlier, Baale Aboderin in OluyoleLocal government area of the state, who appreciated the governor for continously giving an enabling environment for religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence, urged the state government to legislate against indecent dressing,alcoholism and drug abuse, while anti-grabbing agency is more strengthened, while the Southwest Cordinating chairman, Christians Association of Nigeria, appealed to the goveenment to go against brigandages and street begging.
Present at the event included, director of security, Executive Assistant to the governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Timothy Olufemi, Special Assistant on Political Matters, represented by Deji Ola.
