Oyo NES urges residents to take advantage of robust service sector, digital growth, agric in Q3 By Olawale Ogunbusola, Ibadan. The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Economic Society [NES] has called on residents of the state to take advantage of the positive economic outlook expected in the third quarter of 2025 in various sectors of the economy by engaging more in productive activities.  Experts have projected that the real  Gross Domestic Product [GDP] growth would  be around 3.4 per cent, which would be supported by the new domestic refinery and increased oil production.  According to Agusto & Co, inflation is expected to moderate in the third quarter, and would result in  a relatively stable naira. Oyo State Government earmarks N7.7billion  for Two security surveillance Aircrafts procurement By Omowumi Hannah, Ibadan The Oyo State Government has approved the procurement of two aircraft to enhance security in the state, particularly in the vast interland areas. This move is aimed at curbing the menace of illegal miners, kidnappers, and other security threats. The two light aircraft, DA 42 MNG model, are Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft equipped with sophisticated surveillance gadgets.  They are capable of identifying targets from high and low altitudes. The aircraft were chosen over helicopters due to their lower maintenance costs, accessible spare parts, and synergy with the Nigeria Air Force, which also possesses the same model. Kwara: Youths burn NDLEA office, invade Emir’s palace over POS agent’s abduction, others By Omowumi Hannah Angry youths on Monday burnt the office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and invaded the palace of the Emir of Lafiagi, a community in Kwara State. The development followed a series of abductions, including that of a POS agentThe protest escalated quickly as windows at the Emir’s palace were broken, and parts of the structure were damaged.Speaking with journalists, a resident said, “We have been crying and dying in silence. People are being kidnapped every week.
